Beginner's Sampler Class

We just finished our first beginner's quilt class. It was a six week class where the students learned a number of quilting techniques. Each week they made 3 blocks where they learned a new technique. On the first lesson, they learned how to achieve an accurate 1/4" and how to chain piece. They also learned to do strip piecing.  In lesson two, the students learned quick corners and quarter square triangles. In lesson three, the Log cabin block,   simple applique and curved piecing. In lesson four, they learned how to make multiple half square triangles at once. In lesson five they learned how to complete sashing and borders. And in the final lesson, they learned about batting, how to make their backing and how to pin baste their quilt. They also learned how to make and put on their binding and how to hand quilt.  Along the way they learned how to draft their designs and how to figure out how to change the size of their blocks. We even had an optional challenge.  It was an intense few weeks and the students worked very hard. On the last night some of the students showed their handiwork. The quilts were amazing and each one a little different. Thank you to all of you who participated!
